Account Executive

POSITION SUMMARY

The Account Executive will be responsible for handling international medical insurance applications, underwriting coordination, broker communication, quotation support, policy onboarding, renewals, and day-to-day operational follow-up. The role requires strong knowledge of medical insurance, underwriting requirements, broker servicing, policy administration, and coordination with internal departments and external partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Underwriting & New Business

  • Review new business applications for individual, family, and SME medical insurance policies.
  • Check application forms, declarations, medical disclosures, supporting documents, age, BMI, occupation, country of residence, geographic coverage, and plan eligibility.
  • Coordinate with the medical underwriting team for decisions such as acceptance, exclusions, loadings, deferrals, or additional requirements.
  • Obtain underwriting approval from the Head of Underwriting for all cases before communicating the final decision or proceeding with policy issuance.
  • Prepare clear communication to brokers regarding pending requirements, underwriting decisions, and policy terms.
  • Ensure all applications are processed in line with company underwriting guidelines, compliance requirements, and internal approval procedures.

Broker & Client Support

  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned brokers and partners.
  • Respond to broker queries in a professional, clear, and timely manner.
  • Support brokers with quotations, plan options, benefit clarifications, application forms, payment requirements, and the onboarding process.
  • Provide guidance on product rules such as geographic coverage, maternity waiting periods, newborn addition, payment frequency, and policy effective dates.
  • Maintain strong broker relationships and ensure smooth service delivery.

Policy Administration & Operations

  • Coordinate with operations teams for policy issuance, payment allocation, welcome kit release, membership cards, and portal access.
  • Follow up on pending documents, signatures, payment forms, and missing information.
  • Support renewals, corrections, endorsements, cancellations, and broker-of-record requests.
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all cases handled.
  • Work closely with finance, claims, medical underwriting, customer service, and IT teams to resolve operational issues.

Quotations & Portal Support

  • Assist brokers with quote generation through the agent portal.
  • Review quote accuracy, plan selection, country of residence, geographic area, and premium details.
  • Escalate portal issues and coordinate with internal IT/support teams until resolved.
  • Provide basic training or guidance to brokers on portal usage where required.

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Maintain daily tracking of pending applications, issued policies, broker queries, and operational follow-ups.
  • Support monthly KPI reporting and business performance tracking where required.
  • Identify process gaps and suggest improvements to enhance turnaround time and service quality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in medical insurance, underwriting, policy administration, or broker servicing.
  • Good understanding of international private medical insurance products.
  • Experience in handling brokers, agents, or corporate clients.
  • Knowledge of medical underwriting requirements, exclusions, loadings, and policy terms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to write clear, polite, and professional emails.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases at the same time.
  • Strong coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, insurance portals, Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Insurance certifications such as CII or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Experience with international health insurance, TPA networks, or medical claims process is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, CRM, or dashboard reporting would be an added advantage.
